Peoria, Ill. – ArtsPartners is pleased to announce the winning works and artists selected for the 2022 Sky Art Peoria program. Sky Art Peoria is an initiative of ArtsPartners of Central Illinois and is made possible in partnership with Adams Outdoor Advertising. The program displays and promotes art from talented local artists who submit their artwork for review.

The Sky Art Peoria jury, which included distinguished arts, business and community leaders, scored the artwork according to artistic and technical merits, as well as visual appeal. In the adult division, the jury chose four winning artists from 76 entries submitted. This year’s winners include: Aareon Boyd, Eternal AB Forever Button Up; Jessica Peterson, A Gentle Breeze; André Petty, Ordinary Love; and Jason Watts, The River

Regarding the art selected this year, Sky Art Peoria committee chair Alexander Martin stated, I am so excited for the new Sky Art Peoria Class of 2022! Every year folks get to share their work with the public in such a wonderful way and this year is no different. What is especially exciting this year is the variety of media being represented in the class. The work is really varied in a wonderful way and we are so excited for everyone to get to witness it! Community and art are crucial for a city’s wellbeing and Sky Art Peoria really helps to bring these aspects together.”

New this year, the Sky Art Peoria initiative launched a student division for young local artists under the age of 18 to submit their artwork for consideration. This year’s jury selected one student winner: Tanishqa Pande, Peacock King

“We really wanted our community’s youth to see what the art world in Peoria has to offer, and to give them a chance to share their work on an amazing scale,” continued Alexander. “Our first ever student winner, Tanishqa Pande, really shined and we are so excited to give her this opportunity. We hope this will generate excitement amongst the youth of our city around the arts and that we will see even more fantastic applicants next year!”

All winning selections will be reproduced on 48’ x 14’ vinyls that will then be rotated on five Adams Outdoor Billboards for one year in various locations throughout Greater Peoria. Sky Art Peoria billboards will be installed during the month of June.

Sky Art Peoria is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency. Program sponsors include: The Fine Arts Society of Peoria, Big Picture Peoria, Discover Peoria, and O’Shea Builders
