ArtsPartners is pleased to announce the winning works and artists selected for the 2021 Sky Art Peoria program. Sky Art Peoria is an ArtsPartners of Central Illinois program and is made possible in partnership with Adams Outdoor Advertising. The program displays and promotes art from talented local artists who submit their artwork for review.

The Sky Art Peoria jury, which included distinguished arts, business and community leaders, scored the artwork according to artistic and technical merits, as well as visual appeal. The jury chose five winning artists from over 115 entries. The winning selections will be reproduced on 48’ x 14’ vinyls that will then be rotated on five Adams Outdoor Billboards for one year in various locations throughout Greater Peoria. Sky Art Peoria billboards will be installed the week of June 14, 2021. This year’s winners include:

Hattie Lee, “Effervescent Connections”

Evan Fairbanks, “creative chaos”

Natalie Jackson, “S’Wonderful”

Mike McGarvey, “Green Bee

Keith Glascock, “pupil”

Regarding the art selected this year, Sky Art Peoria committee chair Alexander Martin says, Public art is crucial in a community that wants to support the arts, uplift voices of the community, and celebrate the community we share. Sky Art gives a chance for members from all over our community to gather and look at the work being made by artists here in Peoria. This not only lifts up the voices of our artists, but also lets community members see what is being made here, to highlight the talent we as a community have. This is an important aspect of a community that puts the arts first and Peoria is doing the work to get there.”

Sky Art Peoria is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency. It is also made possible with a grant from the Community Foundation of Central Illinois. Program sponsors include: Big Picture Peoria, The Fine Arts Society of Central Illinois, and O’Shea Builders.
