Sky Art Peoria 2025 Celebrates 10 Years with Exciting New Partnership
PEORIA, IL – [March 18, 2025] – ArtsPartners of Central Illinois is thrilled to announce the call for entries for Sky Art Peoria 2025, marking a milestone tenth year of showcasing local talent on large-scale billboards throughout the region in collaboration with Adams Outdoor Advertising. This year, Sky Art Peoria is growing in an exciting way, thanks to a new partnership with the Peoria Civic Center.
In addition to the traditional billboards provided by Adams Outdoor, one or two winning pieces will be displayed as vinyl wraps on the brick walls in the Skylight Lobby of the Peoria Civic Center. This new display opportunity will give artists unparalleled exposure in a high-traffic area that sees thousands of visitors annually.
“Through our partnership with ArtsPartners and the Sky Art Program, we are proud to support the growth of artistic talent and opportunities in our community, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have,” said Beau Sutherland, Assistant General Manager, Peoria Civic Center. The new installation at the Civic Center will provide artists with a unique opportunity to showcase their work in a space that sees diverse audiences throughout the year.
Sky Art Peoria is a juried competition that puts the work of local artists on Adams Outdoor 48’ x 14’ billboards, offering exposure to thousands of residents. Each winning artist receives over $37,000 in free advertising, making it a significant opportunity for local creatives.
Sky Art Peoria welcomes entries from both adults and students under the age of 18.While students are not eligible for the Peoria Civic Center placement, we strongly encourage students of all ages to submit their artwork for consideration on billboards throughout the region.
Since its inception, Adams Outdoor Advertising has been a key partner in making Sky Art Peoria possible. “We are thrilled to celebrate 10 years of partnering with ArtsPartners for Sky Art, a program that gives local artists a larger-than-life platform to showcase their incredible work,” said Liz Snyder, General Manager of Adams Outdoor Advertising. “Their creativity not only transforms our skyline but also brings vibrancy and inspiration to our community.”
Artists will have the option to opt in to be considered for the Civic Center location or opt out if they prefer to be considered for the billboards only. “I’m very excited to chair the Sky Art committee as it celebrates the tenth year this program has raised our community’s artists towards the sky,” said Everley Davis, Chair of Sky Art Peoria. “With the new partnership with the Peoria Civic Center, we are eager to see new artists selected to honor this anniversary. We look forward to more students and adults submitting to the art call with a chance for their creativity to be shared with Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties.”
Call for Entries Details:
- Opens: March 17, 2025
- Deadline: April 20, 2025 at midnight
- Eligibility: Artists 18+ residing in Peoria, Tazewell, or Woodford counties. Students under 18 from the same three counties may enter the student category.
- Under 18 Student Entry Fee: Free for up to three submissions
- Entry Fee for 18+: $20 for up to three submissions (Please note, if the entry fee is cost-prohibitive and creates a barrier for you to participate, please send an email to [email protected] requesting financial assistance.
Selected billboard artists will have their work displayed from approximately June 2025 to May 2026, with billboard locations rotating throughout the region. Winning billboard artists will also be invited to participate in a Sky Art Peoria Gallery Exhibition, with an opening reception date to be determined. Artists selected for the Peoria Civic Center installation will coordinate their agreement directly with the Peoria Civic Center.
