Peoria, IL – ArtPop Peoria, an ArtsPartners of Central Illinois Inc. initiative, is pleased to announce the members of the ArtPop Peoria 2015 jury. The jury was selected for their diverse and extensive backgrounds in the arts and for their leadership within the Peoria area.

 

Sherry Cannon – Executive Director of Hope Renewed Youth Conference, Inc. and Program Coordinator for ELITE Youth Outreach. A personal art lover, Cannon understands the importance of art in every aspect of society and especially in the education and development of young people.

 

Duffy (Armstrong) Farrell – Senior Director, Gift Planning, Bradley University. Farrell is an artist and arts advocate and is currently a Board member of Arts Alliance Illinois. She holds a BFA from Bradley, served as Curator of Education at Lakeview Museum, Director and Board President of the Peoria Art Guild, advisor to the Prairie Center of the Arts, and past President of ArtsPartners.

 

Sam Gappmayer – President and CEO of the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Gappmayer has a graduate degree in art history from the University of Oregon. Before moving to Peoria, he served as the CEO of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.

 

Stacy Peterson – Communications Specialist City of Peoria. Peterson has always enjoyed promoting the vibrancy of Peoria in several roles: trustee for the Peoria Historical Society, organizer of the Fine Art Fair on the Peoria Riverfront, a member of the Steering Committee for Sculpture Walk Peoria, and a member of the Downtown Advisory Commission.

 

Karen Zichterman – School Psychologist, IVC District 321. Zichterman is a lifelong appreciator of the arts. She currently serves on the Contemporary Art Center Board of Directors.

 

Richard W. Zuckerman – Attorney at Law. President of the Peoria Art Guild for last 3 years. Member of the PAG Board of Directors for over 25 years. Along with his wife, Karen, Zuckerman has been a collector and patrons of the visual arts in Peoria for more than 35 years supporting events such as the Bradley Print Show and the PAG Fine Art Fair.

 

All jury members have expressed their enthusiasm about being a part of ArtPop Peoria 2015 and promoting public art in the Peoria area. The artwork selected will be displayed on Adams Outdoor billboards for an entire year.

 

Those interested in submitting artwork for consideration in ArtPop Peoria 2015 can access the call on the ArtsPartners website at artspartners.net/artpop-peoria/ or through www.callforentry.org. The entry deadline is April 16, 2015. There is a $20 fee per entry. See the website for important rules and regulations. All production costs will be borne by the project.

 

ArtPop Peoria is an ArtsPartners of Central Illinois initiative. This is our first annual event and we are seeking to display art from local artists that is appropriate for public viewing. The art will be rotated on Adams Outdoor billboards for one year in various locations throughout the Peoria area.
