PEORIA, IL, August 3, 2026: Treasure hunters, bargain lovers, and anyone looking to furnish a home without emptying a wallet are invited to one of Peoria’s most anticipated sales of the year. The First Federated Church Annual Rummage Sale returns Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, at the Life Together Center. The sale opens at 9 a.m. each day, but longtime shoppers know the excitement begins much earlier, with a line often forming by 6 a.m. WHEN: Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8 TIME: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. WHERE: Life Together Center 3625 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, Illinois Located at the corner of Sheridan Road and War Memorial Drive Thousands of Items Under One Roof More than 13,000 square feet of event space will be transformed into an organized bargain shopper’s dream. Items are carefully sorted, priced, and arranged into departments, making it easy for shoppers to find exactly what they need and plenty they did not know they needed. Departments include antiques, tools, jewelry, toys, books, furniture, artwork, dishes, small appliances, housewares, holiday décor, linens, and preschool classroom items from First Federated Church’s former preschool program. Whether shoppers are preparing a college dorm room, furnishing a first apartment, redecorating a room, or outfitting an entire home, they will find an incredible selection at affordable prices. Powered by Volunteers, Driven by Purpose Nearly 50 volunteers, ranging in age from 12 to 98, work together to make the sale possible. They spend countless hours collecting, sorting, pricing, displaying, hauling, and helping shoppers throughout the event. The annual sale has become much more than a fundraiser. It is a multigenerational tradition that builds friendships, creates laughter, strengthens community connections, and gives volunteers of all ages an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Every Purchase Supports the Community One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale supports First Federated Church’s mission programs and community partners, including: Center for Prevention of Abuse, Children’s Home, Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Crittenton Centers, Dream Center, FamilyCore, Graceland, Center for Purposeful Aging, Hult Center for Healthy Living, Midwest Food Bank, Neighborhood House of Peoria, Paws Giving Independence, Peoria Grown, Snack Pack Program, and South Side Mission. First Federated Church also provides support for special community needs, one-time causes, international mission efforts, and additional fundraisers throughout the year. Donated items receive a second life instead of going to a landfill, shoppers take home quality items at affordable prices, and the money raised is reinvested into programs serving children, families, older adults, and neighbors throughout the Peoria area.
