Guest Artist Series: The Langston Hughes Project

The Langston Hughes Project is a powerful multimedia concert performance of Hughes’s kaleidoscopic poem Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz. This vibrant fusion of spoken word, live jazz, and visual storytelling brings to life Hughes’s brilliant, forward-thinking commentary on race, art, and freedom. Featuring the dynamic Dr. Ron McCurdy and his talented ensemble, the production blends gospel, blues, bebop, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and more into an unforgettable journey through African American history and culture. Originally penned in the 1960s, Hughes’s message resonates just as strongly today.

Buy tickets online or at the PAC Box Office, open from 11 am to 4 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 11 am to 2 pm on Friday.
