Join Us For the Unveiling of “Celebrating Generations: Peoria!” Mural at C.T. Gabbert Remodeling and Construction Ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Peoria’s newest public art landmark in the Warehouse District.

PEORIA, IL – October 7, 2026 – Community members, local leaders, and art enthusiasts are invited to gather at C.T. Gabbert Remodeling and Construction, located at 1323 SW Adams Street, for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling of the new “Celebrating Generations: Peoria!” mural. The event will take place on October 21, 2026 at 10 AM. Designed to honor the rich history, diverse culture, and bright future of the Peoria community, the “Celebrating Generations: Peoria!” mural transforms the exterior of the historic Warehouse District building into a vibrant visual storytelling canvas. AARP sponsored this mural creation in its efforts to spur Peoria to become an “age-friendly” community. This community mural will serve as a lasting artistic contribution to Peoria – celebrating the beauty of intergenerational relationships and visually honoring the vital role older adults play in our families, friendships, and neighborhoods.

Over 20 children and 30 adults from the community helped to paint this mural. “We are thrilled to bring this vision to life on our building,” said Chuck Gabbert, Owner at C.T. Gabbert Remodeling and Construction. “This mural is more than just paint on a wall – it represents the enduring spirit of Peoria, honoring those who built our community while inspiring the generations to come.” The unveiling event will feature brief remarks by Peggy Jacques, Chuck Gabbert, and the lead artist, Megan Couri, followed by the official ribbon-cutting presentation. Guests will have the opportunity to view the completed mural up close, meet the artist, and celebrate this significant addition to Peoria’s growing public art scene. All individuals will be available for interviews after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
