PEORIA, IL- December 3, 2018 – For Immediate Release: ArtsPartners is now accepting submissions for professional sculpture appropriate for public viewing for the 2019 Sculpture Walk Peoria outdoor public art exhibit. Through a juried process, Sculpture Walk Peoria offers regional, national and international sculptors the opportunity to showcase and sell their art, while enhancing the cultural environment of Peoria and providing opportunities to educate the public. The fifth annual Sculpture Walk Peoria exhibit will open on May 18, 2019 and run for approximately one year.
Since its launch in 2015, the program has brought 54 unique pieces of large scale sculpture to Peoria’s Downtown and Warehouse Districts. Notably, 10 of the 54 sculptures featured in past exhibits have found permanent homes in central Illinois at public institutions and private residences.
Sculptures selected by the jury will be placed in highly visible locations along Washington Street. Exhibiting artists will receive an honorarium of $2,000. Additionally, a People’s Choice Award of $1,000 will be awarded to the artist whose sculpture receives the most votes from the community.
