Peoria, IL – ArtsPartners of Central Illinois and Adams Outdoor Advertising are pleased to announce that Greg De Pauw is the winner of the inaugural ArtPop Peoria 2015 People’s Choice Contest. The ArtPop Peoria People’s Choice voting was open to the public during the month of May, and De Pauw received 41 percent of the popular vote.

De Pauw, a resident of Metamora, works in mixed media and sculpture. His abstract work, Cool Wave Jazz, will appear throughout Central Illinois on a 48-foot billboard. “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase my artwork to the public, and I feel honored to be chosen for ArtPop. The community of Peoria is exploding with art. It’s a fabulous time to be here, and I’m glad to be part of it,” said De Pauw.

In addition, four other artists whose works were chosen by a jury of artists and community leaders will have their art displayed on individual billboards.

Those four artists and their works are:

–        Connie Andrews, Bringing Him To Life

–        James Burnham, Three Red Barns

–        Lawrence Keach, Untitled

–        Chris Kukla, Rattlespheres

The artwork billboards will begin appearing in Central Illinois the week of June 15 and will remain on display until June 2016. ArtPop Peoria is part of a national program that shines the spotlight on talented local artists by displaying their artwork on Adams Outdoor Advertising 14′ x 48′ billboards. As a result, the billboards introduce both local residents and visitors to the rapidly growing arts scene in Central Illinois.
