Électricité: Illuminating Perspectives Art Exhibition

A Juried Exhibition Celebrating Contemporary Woman Artists

Électricité: Illuminating Perspectives is the Peoria Women’s Club’s annual juried exhibition showcasing original 2D and 3D works by contemporary women artists from Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties. Presented each March in conjunction with Women’s History Month, the exhibition honors women’s creative voices and continues the Club’s long-standing tradition of supporting arts, culture, and community.

In addition to the exhibition, we are pleased to offer a special illustrated lecture by Kristan McKinsey, titled Creating a Stir: Early Women Artists of the Peoria Area. The lecture, scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2025, will explore the stories of pioneering women artists from central Illinois, including two founding members of the Peoria Women’s Club. Kristan will illuminate the historical contributions these women made to the region’s cultural life, even in times when women were discouraged from pursuing creative careers.

The exhibition will conclude with a luncheon on Thursday, March 20, 2025 (please register and purchase tickets at PeoriaWomensClub.com), where the prize-winning artists will be honored and invited to discuss their work. Additional viewing opportunities will be available at noon each Wednesday during the exhibition.
