ArtsPartners of Central Illinois Announces the Opening of the Follow Your Arts Gallery
PEORIA, IL – ArtsPartners of Central Illinois is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Follow Your Arts Gallery at 706 West Main Street, Peoria, IL, on Friday, October 4, 2024. The gallery will open with its inaugural exhibition, Intersecting Identities, featuring local artists Hannah Offutt and Feral. A reception will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The Intersecting Identities exhibition brings together the engaging and thought-provoking works of Offutt and Feral, two artists who delve into personal themes of identity and emotion. Offutt’s pieces reflect on queer identity and self-discovery, offering an intimate and colorful exploration of self. Feral, whose work draws on nature, folklore, and the experience of chronic pain and anxiety, presents deeply evocative pieces that give form to these emotional states. Both artists create a space for viewers to connect with their work and reflect on their own experiences.
This gallery opening marks a significant milestone for ArtsPartners, as it continues its mission to build awareness and strengthen the arts in Greater Peoria. The Follow Your Arts Gallery will provide a platform for local artists to showcase their work and foster community engagement with the arts.
About the Artists
- Hannah Offutt is a Peoria native and a founding member of the Peoria Guild of Black Artists (PGOBA). They explore themes of identity, creativity, and vibrant expression through their abstract, colorful works.
- Feral, also a Peoria native and fellow founding member of PGOBA, focuses on the personification of anxiety and chronic pain in their artwork, drawing viewers in with a unique blend of nature-inspired and visceral motifs.
