Youth Music Illinois to hold auditions for all ages
Youth Music Illinois will host auditions for new students August 25 and 29 at the Life Together Center in Peoria, Illinois. All students with at least a beginner’s proficiency on a string, wind, or brass instrument are invited to audition. Students with an intermediate proficiency on a percussion instruments are invited to contact the Executive Director for information on auditions. Apply on the Youth Music Illinois website.
Rehearsals for Preparatory and Concert Orchestras are Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00. Rehearsals for Youth Symphony are on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-5:00. Audition information can be found on Youth Music Illinois’ website. Students should be prepared to play scales, a prepared piece, and an excerpt as posted on the Youth Music Illinois website.
The season will begin with student/parent orientation on September 1, 2019, at the Life Together Center in Peoria, Illinois. All students and their parents, whether involved with Youth Music Illinois or not, are welcome to attend this first open rehearsal. The event will take place from 2:00-5:00 in the afternoon.
