“(Title of Show)”, a one act musical comedy about writing a one-act musical comedy, will be presented at Corn Stock Theatre November 15-16, November 22-23 at 7:30 pm and November 17 and November 24 at 2:30 pm at the Theatre Center in Bradley Park.
The production continues the tradition of the Corn Stock winter season of offering unique and lesser-known theatre pieces in an intimate setting.
The play is based on the authors’ real-life experience of trying to write a one-act musical comedy in three weeks’ time to meet a New York Music Theatre Festival contest deadline. As they struggle with the concept, they realize that the struggle is more interesting than the ideas they are coming up with, so they write and submit a play about the process. It wins the contest, and ends up being produced both on and off-Broadway. Since then, “(Title of Show)” has become a favorite of regional theatres. Corn Stock’s production will be the first time it has been staged in this area.
Lisa White directs a cast of four that includes Jasmine Elam, Emily Beever, Timothy Devery, and Matt Stubbs.
General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $14 for youth and may be purchased by calling 676-2196, at the door or online at http://cornstocktheatre.com
