Peoria Players Theatre will present a weekend of family entertainment June 8-10. Show Tunes Sing-Along celebrates songs from famous Broadway shows as the audience participates in singing the lyrics that are projected on a screen above the stage.
Directed by Pat and Bruce White, the show features two Peoria theater favorites. Lee Wenger is the singing master-of-ceremonies and Denise Adams is the accompanist. Lee is well known for leading the Journal Star Christmas Sing and the Irish Review; Denise, an accomplished music director, directs the Morton Civic Chorus.
Guest artists performing in duet, solo and ensemble numbers include Susan Somerville Brown, Erin Craig, Bruce Colligan, Jarod Hazzard and Jeremy Kelly. Some of the show tunes featured are from “Guys & Dolls,” “My Fair Lady,” “Gypsy,” “Anything Goes,” “Grease” and “West Side Story.” A set for children include songs from “Annie,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Show Tunes Sing-Along features songs from Peoria Players’ past, while generating excitement for the upcoming 100th season. Bring the entire family and join us in song!
