Peoria Players is proud to present Return to the Opry, a step back to the days of the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Directed by Howard Gorman, the show will highlight some of the greatest performers to ever step on stage. Artist such as Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Elvis will take you back to a time when the Opry was performed live on stage as well as on the radio. The show will be hosted by the very talented comedic work of two of the greatest comedians of that time, Minnie Pearl, played by Megan Johnston, and the Duke of Paducah, played by Chris Peterlin.

Gracing the stage for this production are thirteen terrific performers, including Jared Coker, Stephanie Foster, Paul Gordon, Shannon Johnson, Lee Lard, Laura Maushard, Matt Maushard, Courtney Moore, Michelle Rosecrans, Maggie Sloter, Dan Smith, Lora Stone and Sally Wykert, along with a live band. Return to the Opry will take you back to that time of legendary country music, and there will even be a little touch from some newer artists.

Performances will take place on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31 at 7:30 pm, and New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1 at 2:00 pm. The New Year’s Eve performance also includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar provided by Catering Peoria.
