Peoria Area Civic Chorale – Festival Choir Program Coordinator

The Peoria Area Civic Chorale is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the organization’s“Festival Choir Program” Coordinator for the 2021-2022 season.

Position Summary

Plan and coordinate two (i.e., Winter and Spring), 2-day Festival Choir Program events for student-singers in Central Illinois. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the logistical planning,organization, and coordination of the Festival Choir Program as outlined in this document. This part-time staff member represents the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and as such will report directly to the Artistic Director/Conductor of the Peoria Area Civic Chorale and the Civic Chorale’s Board of Directors.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience required. Previous experience working with children (grades 4-9) and their music educators is highly desirable. Event management, contracts and negotiation, budgeting, hiring, live performance,leadership, ability to multitask, ability to network with music educators in Central Illinois using strong written and verbal communication skills. The Program Director must be able to work with a large assortment of people and businesses in order to ensure that each music event runs smoothly and is a complete success.
