The Illinois Central College Theatre Program is seeking experienced lighting designers and scenic designers for paid positons during the 2019-2020 ICC theatre season.
Lighting designers must be able to create light plots and program the light board, must be available to the director and technical director to respond to questions and attend weekly production meetings by phone or in person. Lighting designers must attend tech rehearsals and dress rehearsals until agreed designs and changes are complete. This is a paid position.
Scenic designers must be able to draft necessary plates for the scene shop to build from. Scenic designers must be available for production meetings in person or by phone and must be available to meet with the director or technical director as agreed on. Scenic designers must attend tech rehearsals. This is a paid position.
The 2019-20 ICC Theatre Season consists of:
- George Orwell’s 1984 – six shows over two weekends September 20-29 in the mainstage theatre
- The Revenants by Scott Barsotti – seven shows over 10 days November 8-17 in the studio theatre
- A Macbeth by William Shakespeare; adapted by Charles Marowitz – six shows over two weekends February 21-March 1 in the mainstage theatre
- Eric Coble’s Myth Adventures: Five Greek Classics – seven shows over 10 days April 10-19 in the studio theatre
The ICC Theatre Program season consists of four productions held in the ICC Performing Arts Center, located on the East Peoria campus. The shows open in September, November, February and April. Two shows each season are produced in the proscenium main stage auditorium/theatre that seats almost 500 patrons. The other two shows are held in the “black box” studio theatre, which typically seats between 60 and 100 patrons depending on the set configuration. All shows are fully supported with budget, designers build and run crew. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with dedicated theatre students and contribute to their education.
