Peoria Art Guild First Friday Reception Join us for First Friday September 4, 2026  from 5:00-8:00pm! “Where It Takes Me” Works by Joel Metzler I have been creating artwork for over 20 years. Although my career is in emergency veterinary medicine, I enjoy creating pieces of art that I can share with others. My process is to collect images that I find intriguing and develop a story to paint. I primarily use acrylic on a variety of mediums, but also use charcoal, graphite, and oil paint. My inspiration is with contrasts and finding beauty in obscure places.   “Time Taught Me To See” Works by Tracy Denniston Time has shaped both my eye and my purpose. I am drawn to portraiture— especially children— where light, expression, and color come together to reveal authenticity, wonder, and connection.   My work is an invitation to pause, to notice beauty, and to celebrate the stories that quietly unfold before us.
