Crystal Potthoff and friends exhibit a variety of pysanky (wax batik on eggshell). This ancient art form involves layers of wax and dye that is “written” on an egg. A variety of eggshells are used in this art form – from quail to ostrich – to create unique and creative forms of art. Also included in the exhibit is an eclectic assortment of Crystal’s acrylic and mixed media painting. Some of her favorite subjects are landscapes from the Central Illinois area, nature and abstracts. Through her pysanky and painting, Crystal’s desire is to bring the joy she finds throughout the world into the hearts of others.
