The Foster Gallery at Peoria First United Methodist Church is pleased to exhibit Encoded Memory, Artwork by Lisa Nelson Raabe.
Raabe is a collage artist who paints with an emotional sense of place by using pigments, metal filings, glass, bits of nature, and thread in combination with acrylic mediums to transform color and texture.
“This current work expands on my experiments with patina processes and plant dying on Thai papers and copper salvage. I use steel, copper, and bronze filings which transform to blues, greens, and of course rust. These images reflect and cultivate inner calm, insight, and a kind of optimistic vision. I hope you find these places within your own heart, to feel ease and joy in the midst of our crazy abundantly informative world.” Lisa Nelson Raabe.
