Peoria, IL – July 11, 2022 – One of the greatest journeys ever taken or told is coming to Corn Stock Theatre July 15-23. Ken Ludwig’s Treasure Island is based off the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel of the same name.

Jim Hawkins, played by Tobin Robertson, gets more than he bargained for when he embarks on a daring sea voyage to locate an island of fantastic treasure. Jim’s journey leads him not only to gold and jewels but to treachery and mutiny as well. Filled with unforgettable characters including Long John Silver, the most famous pirate of them all, Treasure Island comes alive for the whole family as an epic theatrical adaptation of one of the world’s great adventure stories.

Jeramie Glass stars as the notorious pirate, Long John Silver. Glass also serves on Corn Stock’s Board of Directors and chairs the Winter Season Committee. “It has been an amazing challenge to bring such an infamous character to life. So many talented actors have portrayed Silver: Orson Welles, Tim Curry, Charlton Heston…it’s been daunting and exciting trying to carve my own version of Long John Silver.”

Other notable actors include Grace Blume as the Narrator, Jonte Strickland as Squire Trelawney, John Johnson as Captain Smollet, and Rose Blume as Doctor Livesy. The cast of 30 brings this classic dark comedy to the stage under the direction of theatre staples, Greg and Sarah Blume.

Treasure Island runs from July 15 through July 23 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for students (18 and under).

Patrons are encouraged to come early and have dinner with the food vendor of the production, Cheese Nuts Pizzeria. Young’s Popcorn Heaven will also be on site with popcorn available to purchase before the show and during intermission as well as drinks from The Broadway Deli & Lounge and snow cones from Tropical Sno.

A summer-long raffle is also taking place with prizes awarded every evening – during Treasure Island patrons could win a bottle of rum, two tickets to a show at Corn Stock’s Winter Playhouse, and a surprise treasure every night of the show. At the conclusion of the run, all tickets purchased during the run of Treasure Island are entered into a drawing for a chest filled with treasure. And at the end of the season, all raffle tickets purchased over the summer are pooled into a drawing for a trip for two to London taking place in December.
