Corn Stock Theatre is excited to announce their new 2020-2021 Winter Lab Season. Guests who attended 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche got a special surprise when they were told before each performance and now Corn Stock Theatre is ready to announce it to the world!

The 2020-2021 Winter Lab Season will consist of four productions, three plays and one musical. Corn Stock will open the Winter Lab Season with The Toxic Avenger: The Musical directed by Bob Parkhurst and performed October 16-18 and 23-25, 2020. The Toxic Avenger: The Musical is based on Lloyd Kaufman’s cult film by the same name, with music and lyrics written by David Bryan. This musical is a charming love story that has it all: an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and two guys who play everyone else, including old ladies and stiletto-wearing back-up singers!

The second production will be When We Were Young and Unafraid directed by Rebekah Dentino (as she makes her directorial debut at Corn Stock) and performed November 13-15 and 20-22, 2020. When We Were Young and Unafraid takes place in the early 1970s, before Roe v. Wade and the Violence Against Women Act. Agnes turns her bed and breakfast into a place of rescue for domestic violence victims, but as the feminist revolution grows louder, Agnes is forced to confront her own presumptions about the women she has helped.

These Shining Lives directed by Paul Gordon, will be the third production following the holiday break and be on stage January 15-17 and 22-24, 2021. Set in post-war 1920s, Catherine and her three friends spend their days painting watch faces glow-in-the-dark. As all the women begin to fall ill, they discover their sickness is due to radioactive paint used for the watches. As they file a class-action lawsuit against Radium Dial Company, these women demonstrate the power of the female spirit despite the curbing of women’s newly won social freedoms during the Great Depression.

Finally, Corn Stock’s Winter Lab Season concludes with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged directed by Anna Oxborrow and performed February 12-14 and 19-21, 2021. In just 97 minutes, you will experience all 37 William Shakespeare works. Three madcap men in tights weave their way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies on one wild ride that will leave you breathless with laughter.
