Job Description

Definition of the Position:

The major purpose of this job, even though there are others, shall be to coordinate, advise, and assist every production of Corn Stock so that show qualities of the highest level are achieved.  This position is under the direct supervision of the Theatre Staff and the Technical Coordinator and is subject to joint review at least one month prior to the expiration of the contract.  This position is seasonal.

Areas of Responsibility:

Show Production:

  1. Meet with the Technical Coordinator and Shop Foreman (and when requested, the director of each production) regarding the desired staging of the show and offer assistance for any technical element of the production.
  2. Review each design of various elements of each production with concern for feasibility of design and ability to meet submitted budget.
  3. When directed by the Shop Foreman, provide director support for the implementation and construction of the designer’s plans.
  4. Notify the Theatre Staff of any safety issues including set design and construction.
  5. Develop good working relationships with all production volunteers.
  6. When requested, work directly with the production director in either a designer or crew member capacity to provide show qualities of the highest level.
  7. Take ownership of each production so that the highest technical quality of production is achieved.
  8. When requested, assist with the production in a technical capacity which may include, but is not limited to: painting, set building, assisting with lighting tasks, sound tasks, sound execution assistant duties, etc. as assigned by production chairs or the Theatre Staff.

Grounds and Maintenance:

  1. Maintain overall appearance of entire theatre grounds to the highest standards, including buildings, landscaping, and physical assets.
  2. Maintain cleanliness of the grounds at all times.
  3. Assist in maintaining the physical properties of the Theatre Center.
  4. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Theatre Center.
  5. Replenish all cleaning supplies at the Tent at all times for use by volunteers.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of office and cast/crew areas at all times.
  7. Maintain all theatre assets in good repair.
  8. Maintain all physical properties to required legal code.
  9. Assist Maintenance & Security Associates when needed.


  1. Monitor perimeter of grounds.
  2. Lock and secure all spaces within the theatre and its grounds when not in use.
  3. Monitor weather conditions and ready the tent and its grounds for inclement weather, when needed.
  4. Report any potential security breaches or safety hazards to Theatre Staff.
  5. Carry the panic button with you at all times. Trigger silent notification to Police if needed.
  6. Assist Maintenance & Security Associates when needed.

Volunteers and Productions:

  1. Actively seek, recruit, and train volunteers in technical areas.
  2. Work with the Theatre Staff, Technical Coordinator, and Shop Foreman to develop and maintain a Technical Manual for the entire facility.
  3. Assist in coordinating and managing the process of setting up and taking down the Tent and the technical elements associated thereof during the spring and fall respectively.

Customer Service:

  1. Assist patrons in locating their seats.
  2. Assist patrons on uneven surfaces.
  3. Assist Box Office when needed, including printing and sorting ‘Will Call’ tickets and place in envelopes.
  4. Assist Box Office when needed, including cross training on Patron Manager and Box Office Express.
  5. Assist Box Office when needed, including answering phones and assisting patrons with purchasing tickets.


  1. Assist Theatre Staff when needed with administrative tasks, including but not limited to: making copies, assisting with mailings, answering phones, running errands, etc.
  2. Adhere to CST’s Code of Conduct.
  3. Represent CST in a positive manner with volunteers, other employees, and patrons.
  4. Adhere to CST dress code at all time when patrons are present.
  5. Complete other duties as assigned by Theatre Staff, Technical Coordinator, and/or Shop Foreman.
  6. Shall work an average of 24 hours per week, with the knowledge that at times during the summer season, more hours may be required. Typical work hours will be between 3:00pm-11:00pm.

There are 2 positions available.  Start date is anticipated to be on or around June 14, 2021.
